If the Shoe Fits, Donate It
Modern Wound Care Management (MWCM) is one of a series of “well-assembled” meetings that includes a giving component. The Conference partners with the American Diabetes Association to raise funds to purchase special shoes for patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers.
The greater mission is to raise awareness and money to purchase special diabetic shoes and orthotics for disadvantaged/homeless patients suffering from current or past diabetic foot ulcers. Evidence shows that custom-made, properly fitting shoes can prevent amputation in diabetic patients with severe neuropathy.
Modern Wound Care Management (MWCM) has partnered with the Seattle Chapter of the American Diabetes Association as well as with many corporate supporters including DJO Global (Dr. Comfort), Crary Shoes and Osborn Medical (Rooke Boots). Over the last 3 years, MWCM has donated more than $42,000 in cash and in-kind donations to the American Diabetes Association. Learn More →
